I also ended up painting the birdcage black and then distressed it a tad bit with my 3M sanding block. You can find the original post here. I added it to a plain plant shelf that I have in my living room that is in progress.
I originally got the cage for $4.99 and love how it turned out. Looks like I spent way more than that on it. Love it, love it! Here is where is sits waiting for neighbors.
